Culture Appreciation Day Event October 12, 2014

News that our Blue Flag Committee is spearheading Culture Appreciation Day on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 8:00AM near Aqua Sport. The proposed program will consist of:

Beach Cleanup / Underwater Cleanup and Condo Fish tour
Raising of the Ecological Blue Flag for 2014
An Educational Lecture on Saving Sharks / Game of Soccer at the Beach / Piñata
Delicious Roast Pork Gallos

Streets Update
Our Streets Committee Chairperson, Stephany Ruíz has been relentless in her pursuit of getting our beach entrances repaired, speed bumps painted on the main road and estimates for speed bumps to be installed on the beach entrances. According to her contacts, the Mayor of Carrillo has petitioned the Municipalidad on our behalf to get the entrances repaired. Our Streets Committee has also obtained estimates for performing the work ourselves with paving materials donated by the Muni. Before spending money on footing the bill for repairs ourselves, we’re awaiting word from the Muni on whether or not they will perform the work. Our hope is that with the new fiscal year beginning October 1, we’ll be first on the list for repairs and may then use Association funds to install speed bumps. Stay tuned.

Fundraiser December 10, 2014
We will be having our 2014 fundraiser on Wednesday, December 10 from 4PM to 8PM at Aqua Sport. Please save the date. More information to come on this one. It promises to be a big event!

Actualización en Calles
Nuestra Encargada del Comité de Calles, Stephany Ruíz Stephany Ruíz ha sido implacable en su búsqueda de conseguir nuestras entradas a la playa reparados, los reductores de velocidad pintadas en la calle principal y las presupuestas para los reductores de velocidad que se instalarán en las entradas a la playa. Según a sus contactos, el alcalde de Carrillo ha pedido a la Municipalidad en nuestro nombre para conseguir las entradas reparadas. Nuestro Comité de Calles también ha obtenido presupuestas para realizar el trabajo nosotros mismos con materiales de pavimentación donados por la Muni. Antes de gastar dinero en pagar la cuenta de las reparaciones nosotros mismos, estamos a la espera de la palabra de la Muni de si van o no a realizar el trabajo. Nuestra esperanza es que con el nuevo año fiscal que comienza el 1 de octubre vamos a estar primero en la lista para las reparaciones y podemos entonces usar fondos de la Asociación para instalar reductores de velocidad. Estén atentos.
