Streets Committee

As everyone knows who lives here or who has visited Costa Rica, road conditions can vary greatly region to region and season to season. And Playa Hermosa is no exception to the rule. Our streets committee works with local residents and business owners as an liaison between our community and the Municipality of Carrillo to target areas on our streets, bridges and in the Maritime Zone that need repairs or augmentation.

The photo on the left reflects a humorous view of the situation: A “hueco” is a hole or pothole. So the translations is, “When I fall in a pothole I think of the president. Costa Rica: a ‘pothole’logical country”. When the last word is pronounced in Spanish, it sounds nearly identical to the word for ‘ecological’. Get it? Pura vida!

Como todo el mundo sabe que vive aqui o que ha visitado Costa Rica, el estado de las carreteras puede variar mucho una region a otra y de una estacion a otra. Y Playa Hermosa no es la excepcion a la regla. Nuestro comite de calles trabaja con los residentes locales y dueños de negocios como un enlace entre nuestra comunidad y la Municipalidad de Carrillo para apuntar a areas en nuestras calles, puentes y en la zona maritima que necesiten reparacion o reemplazo.

Como dice la ventana en el carro, arriba, “Cuando caigo en un hueco me acuerdo del presidente. Costa Rica: un pais “huecologico”. Jajajaja! Pura vida!
